Baker's ashes scattered at sea

Gay District 8 Supervisor Jeff Sheehy scatters some of Gilbert Baker's ashes on San Francisco Bay as friends mourned the rainbow flag creator May 9. Mr. Baker, 65, died March 31 in New York City. Cap't Kirk's San Francisco Sailing lent assistance for the solemn occasion that was attended by Tom Taylor and several of Mr. Baker's friends. Taylor has organized a public memorial for Mr. Baker that will be held Thursday, June 8 at 7 p.m. at the Castro Theatre, 429 Castro Street.
