With pen in hand, certain artists have the capacity to stun our eyes with unique imagery. Others place seemingly disparate objects together to create visually arresting work. Meeting such artists at openings always draws an equally eclectic crowd of admirers.

Friday, February 5 is packed with openings. Starting in ye olde Castro, Ian Hill's art at Given gets an opening reception for his exhibit of unusual fantasy paintings, at the gift store located at the former site of Harvey Milk's camera shop. 6pm-9pm.
